So incredibly frustrating. Worst phone money can buy. Outside noise is all I can hear when on conversations. Also, when pressing options for recording the phone doesn't pick it up.
We have to go through the house trying the different handsets until we get lucky and find one that works. I made the mistake of buying it in a store without researching. We purchased this phone/answering system less than a year ago and I am ready to throw it out the window. I could not be less satisfied with a product. I will do my homework next time. The handsets are erratic - sometimes picking up the caller ID - sometimes not. Even when fully charged it is random as to whether the handset will work when picked up to dial a number.
I have waited about a half hour for help, then have to hang up and try their solutions. This phone worked fine for 2 months. I am about to give up and buy another phone. So far nothing has worked. Now it does not ring when a call is coming in and the answering machine does not work. I have been in contact with Uniden.
This one works just as advertised and as expected. Ive had Uniden phones for about 15 years and have never encountered a junk unit. I say give it a try. I have had this phone for a little over three months - works terrific. I have no issues with walking outside, downstairs and even outside while talking on it.
This phone, however, is full of static when I get outside the door. I would not recommend this phone for use outside, however, if you just need a phone for the inside. I bought this phone because of the price and I needed my phones replaced after they were blown out in a electrical storm. I have changed the channel soo many times to try to clear it up. this one is ok. While these phones do the purpose, they are not as strong. My previous phone I could walk outside and use it way out in the backyard.
